Word - The Front Line is the first inter-high school competition in New Zealand and we are apart of it! We are making history in terms of poetry and spoken word and it is exhilarating! We are hoping to learn and grow as poets and give our all in this competition. (If we win then it's a bonus.)
A.S.O Collective has auditioned and has gone through to the event! Lately, every Saturday, we have been attending workshops in Town to improve on our writing and performance for the big event!
But, although it is a competition, it hasn't been like isolating ourselves from the other teams, nah its more like meeting new friends and its like we're making new bonds as a huge group! In fact, one of the boys in the group came up with a name for all of us: AYPS (pronounced 'apes') a.k.a Auckland Youth Poets Society.
To be completely honest, the journey so far has been amazing! Hearing all those new voices, listening to their stories and knowing that we aren't the only young poets and actually meeting the other poets, phew! Every time I go to the workshops, it's like a dream to be honest, its like going into a new world and meeting amazing people! Its all thanks to SAPC for making this all happen!
